Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson as the Chillicothe ironworker on 20 February 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as household helper. Nancy was the youngest out of six kids. The passion for music that her father had and the records he played at home were a huge influence on Nancy when she was a little girl. As young as 4, Nancy already knew she would be an artist. The talent she had developed was discovered when she sang in the church choir.
