Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winner in jazz. She was born the 20th of February, 1937 in Chillicothe OH to Olden Wilson who was a worker at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy Wilson was the only baby of six. Cannonball addederley advised her to relocate into New York for her career after which she moved in The Big Town. The agent of Adderley heard about her at The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. Within one month after her arrival in New York City. In the era of Adderley Wilson's leadership, Wilson started focusing on R&B however she soon switched towards torch and jazz. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley formed a band in 1962. This allowed her to climb the charts. By 1963 she had the biggest success with Tell Me the Truth. This brought her a gig at the New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America the following year and she quickly became a legend.
