That year, she released her first single. Guess who? Capitol released five Nancy Wilson Albums in 2 years. Adderley encouraged her to shift away from R&B and to focus on jazz and torch song. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley's collaboration in 1962 was instrumental to bring her to the forefront and her hit Tell Me the Truth was made available in the year 1963. The song led to a performance at the New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America that year, and she was a household name.
