Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson as the Chillicothe ironworker on the 20th of February, 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six kids. Nancy was inspired by her father's musical tastes and records played in the home. They toured from 1956 to 1958. Nancy made her debut album via Dot Records during the time she spent in this band. Cannonball adderley encouraged her to go into New York in order to increase her fame. She visited The Big Town, New York in 1959. After a few weeks after, her manager was impressed by her voice and hired her. She initially focused on blues and rhythm under Adderley's influence, she began to move away from R&B as she embraced jazz and torch songs. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley formed a band in 1962.
